Zero Water Pitcher Review

This is a review of the “Zero Water Pitcher System” I bought at Costco. The company claims it removes ALL solid liquids from the water – thus giving it a zero, when measured by a special meter. See for yourself!

(My Take) Best Water Faucet Filter Culligans Review

Model WFM-17(Walgreens) or FM-15. Filters 200 gallons. Hands down best water faucet filter ever made. The only reason why it got replaced is because it gotten clogged from too much contamnants. There was never a leak, but I did have to re-tighten it every now and then. I never used teflon tape but highly suggest it. This lasted me 21 months before the knob refused to open fully for the water to get filtered through. The taste is no different from all the other brands. Are you tired of over-paying high prices for leaking Pur and Brita brands, this will fix your problems. Filter unit 19-25 dollars. Filter itself 11-15 dollars. Overall rating 9/10. One last thing, the product does not come with correct attachments, but when do any of them do?

Why is my Brita faucet filter getting clogged so fast and how do I unclog it?

I have a Brita filter on my kitchen faucet. They are supposed to last 2 months, but on my faucet, they tank after 2.5 weeks. I don’t use the faucet excessively.

They are very expensive, so is there a way to unclog them? It just seems that they clog way too soon, maybe there are mineral deposits in my water. I live in a prewar building in NYC.

They should last longer than two weeks! They’re supposed to last 2 months!

Most aggressive pitcher water filter?

I’m looking for a pitcher water filter that will filter out the most contaminants possible. I was looking to purchase an Aquasana countertop filter for my apartment kitchen sink, but the ridiculous faucet/sprayer combo that’s on it won’t take a countertop filter. I don’t want to install an under-sink model, because it’s an apartment and I’m not interested in making that investment for something I move out of.

I’m skeptical of the Brita and PUR pitchers, they don’t seem to do much except improve taste. I’m not worried about taste – my water tastes fine – but our city water tests poorly (high levels of chlorine, higher levels of pharmaceuticals and medicines, high in metals).

Any suggestions? It’s hard to find unbiased review just looking through websites…

What type of water filter do I need to remove Uranium and Lead?

Do I need a reverse osmosis system, or another filer, to remove higher-than-normal lead and uranium?
or can I use Pur or Brita type to *sufficiently* do the job? I have an infant, he is my world and it is my job to protect him the best way I can. So, you can imagine why the contaminants are a major concern here.
Our last house had great water quality so we have a faucet-mounted Brita… we’d love to buy a new filter and call it a day.I think Brita and the like are able to get rid of lead, but uranium?
So be brutally honest, if I have to shell out the big bucks for reverse osmosis let me know! And please, don’t just say "Move away" or "Don’t drink the water". Those aren’t options : )

I live in a rocky area, like a Native American mountain area. The uranium is not exceeding legal limits but the level is just higher than other areas. The lead is due to a shooting range near the lake we live on. Both substances in my water are above California "health guidelines" due to the lack of enforced federal guides keeping us safe, so this is what I’m going by.

I appreciate the info in advance!

Last time I posted a question, someone said something about reverse osmosis being costly to operate and wasteful of resources. I wasn’t aware how many gallons are thrown away by the process! Thanks!

I was thinking about getting a Brita water filter and I was wondering if the pitcher…?

or the kind that hooks up to the faucet is better.

Thanks!
