Pitcher filters vs faucet filters — which is better?

Currently I’m using the Pur 2-stage filter for pitchers and I am very satisfied with the taste and quality of the water after filtering. I don’t mind the price of the filters and it works well for me.

However, my boyfriend has a problem with how frequently the pitcher has to be refilled. He also doesn’t refill it when he does drink water so I end up having to refill it before I can have any water when I get home from work. :P

I guess I’m just wondering if it’d be worth it to switch to a faucet-mounted filter. It seems more expensive, but I don’t know how long the filter would last. I’d discourage use for anything besides drinking water, but we do drink a lot of water.

What do you guys think? Also, I’ll be sticking with Pur regardless of how I go.

Is drinking water high in calcium bad for one's health?

The water in my apartment is so high in calcium (and probably other minerals, too) that it looks like skim milk when I turn on the faucet. My cat and I both drink this water, and we cannot afford a water filter. Should I stick to bottled water, or save money by just drinking the calcium water? It thins out when I let it run but I am never able to see the bottom of the cup.

Using Pur3 Faucet filter… with tea…?

Now. i drink copious amounts of tea, and i was going to store more than twice a week to fill up 2 5gallon jugs of water.

So decided it would be a wise investment to buy a faucet filter.

So i did, and i got the pur stage 3, which is chrome.
It said that it reintroduces minerals. into the water to give it that spring water taste… i liked it for drinking water, but it interferes severely with the tea. it tastes almost salty at the back of my tongue…

My question is… can i fit a stage 2 filter in my chrome pur faucet filter. Second… has any one experienced this?

what is the best drinking water?

I would like to hear your experiences with drinking water. What type have you found to be safest, most thirst quenching and best tasting? I avoid tap because I rent an old home with nasty pipes. And I don’t know if any of the filter pitchers, purifiers, etc. can overcome that? I don’t have money to pay a lot. I drink plastic gallons of what is labeled as spring water. But it says reverse osmosis is used. Not sure what to make of that. Causes bitter and metallic taste in my mouth, plus upsets my stomach.

Why does my PUR water filter blink red after a while, even though I haven't used it at all?

It’s the type of filter that attaches directly to the faucet. There’s an option to route the water through the filter, or let it go directly through the faucet. After I changed the filter once, I have only ONCE turned the knob to let it go through the filter (for drinking water). However, after a while, when I decided to route the water through the filter again, it blinked red, telling me to change it. How can this be if I used it only once? It’s not like the filter uses biological components that expire.

Using Water Filter in the Bathroom Safe??

I’ve been drinking water from a Brita Filter from my bathroom faucet for several weeks now. Is this safe to drink from? Or are there contaminants in the air I should be watching out for, etc.??

Any help is appreciated! Thanks!!!!!!!!
I put it in the bathroom only because the filter did not fit on my kitchen faucet. Left me no choice. Thanks for reminding me
