My PUR 2 stage filter is leaking through the indicator window!

This is my second PUR 2 stage filter. The viewing (indicator) window on the front of the second unit is leaking (spraying) water in exactly the same location. Beware! They may last a year then they crack and start leaking and eventually spraying water everywhere without warning. I emailed PUR on their website and in writing and have yet to receive a response. 2 years 2 water filters. I am not going to replace it this time. Tap or water from the fridge‘s despenser! I really am unhappy about the lack of communication from PUR. I wouldn’t recommend this product to anyone anymore.

how does a water filter on a faucet work, and what makes one eventually stop filtering?

i have a brita filter. just wondering how it works, how effective a filter really is and why one doesn’t seem to last all that long (according to the indicator).
