This is a great minimalist water filter to keep in your survival gear. It is lightweight and fairly inexpensive, so it makes a great addition to your pack. This is not they type of filter that you would rely on for camping or hiking, but in an emergency it could save your life. You can live for about three days without water, so a simple filter like the Aquamira Frontier could allow you to drink from a stream or river, keeping you alive.
