How do I fix cloudy water in my fish tank?

I have a ten gallon brackish water tank with five guppies and four mollies. They had been doing great, and my city‘s water had been the perfect PH and ammonia content since I got them, but after my last water change, the water started getting cloudy and the fish started acting weird. I couldn’t figure out what was wrong, but after one died, I found out it was ammonia poisoning caused by a change in our city‘s water supply due to a drought. Everything I found online and in pet stores suggested doing a partial water change to fix it, but the water from my tap has more ammonia in it than my tank. I tried balancing the PH with Jungle Correct pH fizz tabs, and when that didn’t lower ammonia content enough, I tried two tabs of Ammonia Safe in the water. Now the water in the fish tank has safe ammonia content, and the fish have stopped sitting on the bottom of the tank as much and seem to be feeling better. However, this morning I woke up to find the water so cloudy I can barely see through it, which can’t be good for them either. My household fish expert told me to add Start Zyme to replenish bacteria in the water, but that only seemed to make the cloudiness worse. I used Crystal Clear to clear the water early in the week before I knew about the ammonia, so I can’t use that again, and I just changed the bio filter. I have three gallons of clean tap water that I’ve dechlorinated. I’m trying to neutralize the ammonia in them as well so I can do that partial water change everyone is talking about, but I’m scared to change too much now that the fish seem to be doing better and I’ve already messed with it so much. Any advice?

Faucet and shower head parasite water filters?

Just wondering if you guy’s can throw out some links or some info on some faucet and shower head water filter units that attach to the shower and replace the shower head and use filtration types like reverse osmosis and micro levels of 1. I’ll be using one for my kitchen sink, my bathroom sink, and my shower head. I want to be able to easily mount them to the faucets and filter out parasites and micro-organisms.

THANKS!
My city or portion of town has been on a boil alert for like ever. It’s highly contaminated water. Plus worms eggs are in tap water. Unless your city has a bad ass top of the line state of the art water treatment plant. In my part of town, I believe the treatment plant is hella low end. So I will need filters on all water sources that filter at a 1 micro level with reverse osmosis preferably. It’s an apartment, so I can’t really do the house filter, I don’t think. Plus I don’t want to spend much money. I don’t mind buying tons of water at the store but it would be awesome to get filters on all my water sources since I use a nasal rinse in the shower with contaminated water it’s not good. Plus I have allergies and I get a stuffed up nose after using tap water. When I use distilled water, my nose is clear as a whistle.

Why should I use a water filtration system and what kind should I use?

Lately my friends and family have been telling me that I should really be using some kind of water filtration system instead of drinking my water straight from the faucet. I was just wondering if there was any advantage health wise as to drinking filtered water over tap water.

Best Water Filter for Baby's Formula?

we’re moving into our new apartment this weekend or so, and up until now we’ve been living with my parents, who have a built in water filter, which was awesome, and now we’re gonna have city water, and i wanted to get a water filter, but i’m still a little concerned if the water will be clean enough to mix our daughter’s formula or not.

so which has been the best water filter u’ve used? not too expensive hopefully, i’m prolly looking for the one u clip on the faucet, but a pitcher wouldn’t be bad either.

thx
well i hate the taste of tap water anyway…
what i was trying to say is that the water filter wouldn’t be JUST for the baby’s formula…why can’t anyone actually answer my Q by telling me what’s a good water filter instead of telling me tap water is ok for baby formula…
oh yea, and just to let u ppl know…there is a community near by that just a little while ago found out they’ve been drinking contaminated water, w/e was in that water, caused cancer. the city (or whoever was in charge) was aware of the fact that the water was contaminated for 20 years, but hid it for as long as they could. so sorry for not trusting any community…

Can you get chlorine taste out of city water?

-

I’m moving to a city and I know that I hate the taste of the water you get in restaurants. Is there any way to get city tap water to taste good? Will a faucet filter be enough?

How much water do you drink daily? What type of water do you drink?

I drink a gallon of water each day, and since I no longer have water delivery, I usually go to walmart and purchase their 50 cent gallon bottles of water. Anyway, I’m thinking of just using tap water, but attaching a filter to the faucet. What about all of you?

Why does the water from our kitchen faucet taste bad?

All the other faucets in the house work fine. Our kitchen faucet runs very slow, even the spray rinse hose connected to it has more volume. I must run the water for 30 seconds, other wise the water tastes like it has sour bacteria in it. There is plenty of pressure in the hose faucet right outside the kitchen window. I boiled out the faucet filter on the end of the faucet and that seemed to help for a day or two. A glass of this tap water left on my bed side table overnight tasted horrible, even worse than when it was first filled.

What is the best water dechlorinator/conditioner/purifier for freshwater tanks?

I have malawi cichlids: yellow labs and acei cichlids.

Currently I am using stress coat.
Also, is there any conditioner that removes nitrates? My tap water has a LOT of nitrates…
